Probably one of the most photographed spots along the entire Mawson Trail, and the panorama Bike South Australia uses to advertise the Outback Odyssey. The climb up to this point was the toughest climb of the entire ride; even the amazing Lindsey Colla, the first unicyclist to complete the entire Mawson Trail, had to walk the last section. He could out climb everyone up to that point.
Another moment that I had to remind myself that I wasn't in Colorado or New Mexico. This was also a moment in which I understood how big this country is. I was 600 miles north of Adelaide, 150 miles away from the nearest town, and yet was still only one-third of the way into the state of South Australia.
The end of the ride - almost. Technically, the North Blinman Hotel is the end of the Mawson Trail. However, camp was about six miles back along the trail, so after some time celebrating and recuperating, it was back on the bike for the final ride into the last camp.
